Carley Barjaktarovich
Richmond | Shortstop - Senior
Above all else, Barjaktarovich is a gamer. As a sophomore she helped Richmond win the state title and last season the Blue Devils were runner-up. “Defensively, I don’t think there is another short stop that can compare in range, base coverage, arm strength and accuracy,” coach Howard Stuart said. “Her toughness and knowledge of the game is unmatched.” A four-year starter, Barjaktarovich signed with Lehigh. Last season she led her team in batting average (.538), stolen bases (42) and on-base percentage (.600). Barjaktarovich made three errors in 113 chances (.973). Richmond is 26-7 this season and reached the quarterfinals again. Through those 33 games, Barjaktarovich, the leadoff batter, is batting .602 (71-118) with eight doubles, four triples, 52 runs scored, 19 RBI and 35 stolen bases.
