Bryce Veasley
West Bloomfield | QB, 6-3, 225 - Senior
Veasley brought attention to himself and the program last season as he led the Lakers to a Division 1 district final. He threw for 2,515 yards and 22 TDs last season and added 260 rushing yards and four TDs. Built like a linebacker, Veasley possesses a strong and accurate arm. West Bloomfield uses a four wide receiver, one-back offense and Veasley is adept at finding the proper receiver no matter what the defense or coverage. In last week’s 9-7 victory over Detroit Cass Tech, Veasley was 11-of-18 passing for 77 yards. He also rushed for 35 yards. For the season Veasley has thrown for 3,285 yards and 24 TDs. He’s completed 211 of 355 attempts. He’s rushed for 490 yards and 14 TDs on 118 carries. Veasley has led the Lakers to their first state final appearance. “He’s such a valuable player for us because of his leadership skills and physical abilities,” coach Ron Bellamy said. “Bryce is a hard worker and a lead-by-example type of kid.” Veasley committed to Bowling Green.
