Novi – Dan Anderson, a longtime assistant coach at Detroit Catholic Central, has been named the head football coach. Tom Mach, C.C.’s head coach for 41 seasons, retired in February.

Anderson has been with C.C. since 1999 and in his years there he has taught Social Studies, served as the Dean of Students, helped with the freshman basketball program, and has been involved with the Shamrock football program in numerous capacities, from freshman assistant coach to serving as the defensive coordinator since 2007.

Anderson was recognized as the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008, and was named GCL Coach of the Year in 1996 at Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio, where he served as head coach for three seasons.

An extensive interview process for the position took place that provided the search committee the ability to interact with mentors and knowledgeable people in the game of football from around the state.
