Detroit Jesuit comes back in 4th, Defeats Wiegers, Detroit Country Day

Down 14-0 in the fourth quarter, University of Detroit Jesuit quarterback Andre Gard led a ground and air attack for 22 unanswered points, leading UD Jesuit to a 22-14 comeback win over Country Day.
 

In a first half more dominated by Country Day, linebacker Tony Addison’s 70+ yard interception return for a touchdown gave Country Day a 7-0 lead. Country Day quarterback Tyler Wiegers threw his lone touchdown of the day early in the fourth, connecting with Jacob Hill for a touchdown to give Country Day a 14-0 lead. Detroit Jesuit finally got on the board when wide receiver Curtis Smith returned the Country Day kick 95 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-7.
 

Then with 6:53 left in the game Detroit Jesuit quarterback Andre Gard connected with a wide open Liam Teevens for a 40 yard touchdown. Feeling the change in momentum, Detroit Jesuit opted for a two point conversion and converted it for a 15-14 lead. Country Day had a chance to make it close with only 3 minutes remaining, however wide receiver Maurice Ways dropped a wide open pass from Wiegers in the red zone. Detroit Jesuit wide receiver Curtis Smith sealed the game with 17 yard rushing touchdown in the final minutes giving Detroit Jesuit the win 22-14.
