Football Recruiting Notebook – Circle City Flamethrowers Cherry & Reynolds Find Their College Connections

Two of the Indianapolis area’s best incoming senior quarterback prospects cemented their respective college plans this week:
Center Grove field general Tyler Cherry committed to Duke and Avon signal caller Mason Reynolds committed to Western Michigan.
Cherry (6-5, 210) blasted onto the recruiting radar last season with a snazzy stat line of 2,275 yards and 22 touchdowns for a 12-1 Center Grove state-title club. Besides Duke, Cherry mulled offers from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Boston College, among others, as well.
Reynolds (6-2, 205) will be entering his fourth year as the Avon Orioles starter in the fall, first seeing first-team duties in the second half of his freshman campaign. He’s thrown for a combined 4,375 yards and 38 touchdowns over the past two seasons triggering the Orioles offense. Toledo and Illinois State were also in pursuit of Reynolds services at the next level.
