Football Recruiting Notebook (Oakland County Edition) – WB’s Davis-Swain Will Wear Gold, RO’s Jenkins To CMU

By: SCOTT BURNSTEIN, May 11, 2022, 11:19 am

Three of Oakland County’s best prep football players in the Class of ’23 committed to colleges in the past couple weeks:

Brandon Davis-Swain (West Bloomfield 6-4, 255 DE) — Committed to Notre Dame, Davis-Swain is a monster coming off the edge, with motor, moxie and great burst off the snap. Last fall, he racked up 18 sacks for a 10-2 L-Boys squad. Saw reps on WB’s 2020-2021 state championship team as a freshman,

Mekhi Jenkins (Royal Oak 5-11, 180 RB) — Committed to Central Michigan, Jenkins is the epitome of a diamond in the ruff as a prospect: fast, smart, instinctive. He ran for 800 yards and 8 touchdowns as a junior and will be only the second player in school history to ink a National Letter of Intent to a Division I college next winter when he signs with CMU.

Chimdindu Obi (Southfield A&T 6-2, 295 OL) — Committed to Ferris State, Obi is a below-the-radar pancake block specialist boasting a boat load of upside at the next level. Ferris State offered him in February. Scouts love his flawless footwork and tight technique in both running and passing formations.
