GIRLS HOOPS RECRUITING ROUND-UP: Cadre of area lady cage stars committ to DI colleges in days leading up to season

With the start of the season fast approaching, a large group og Metro Detroit’s top girls basketball players committed to Division I college programs in recent weeks.
Let’s take a look at who landed where:
Cassie Breen (Woodhaven) – First-class combo guard and a force of nature on ‘D’, Breen is headed to Central Michigan
Alyssa Copley (Holly) – Skilled post prospect with outstanding footwork and a warriors’ mentality, Copley is going “next level” across the border, committing to Cleveland State
Amani Corley (Southgate Anderson) – This “Downriver Dandy” at the point guard position is a lean, mean dime machine as well as being committed to Central Michigan
Asia Doss (Birmingham Detroit Country Day) – The definition of the word dynamic in the backcourt, Doss is committing to Ohio State, where she will take her high-scoring ways and high-IQ on the hardwood to the Big 10 Conference.
Rio Dudgeon (Macomb Dakota) – Steady small forward staying close to home and committing to Oakland University
LaShai Geeter (Detroit King) – Athletic and aggressive presence on the wing with a future balling down on the Florida panhandle, Geeter is committed to Stetson University
Marte Grays (Detroit King) – Powerful and poised in the paint, Grays is going to be a Blue Demon, committing to DePaul.
Tyra Jones (Detroit Cody) – Agile “big” with a satiny touch around the rim and a nasty demeanor patrolling the post on defense, Jones is committed to take her cage skills to the Steel City and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh
Candace Leatherwood (FH Mercy) – A super smooth and sturdy floor general, Leatherwood committed to Liberty
Maria Liddane (Grosse Pointe North) – Smart playmaker at the point that can pop it from the perimeter if you leave her open, Liddane committed to American University
Tinara Moore (Southgate Anderson) – One the most fearsome threats on the block in the state, Moore committed to Central Michigan
Micha Robinson (AA Huron) – Spunky and speedy point guard, Robinson is set to play in her backyard at Eastern Michigan
Alexis Strippling – An exciting forward prospect that suited up at now-closed Inkster last year, Strippling committed to Eastern Michigan
Nicole Urbanick (Dearborn Divine Child) – The picture of consistency at the shooting guard spot and a born leader, Urbanick committed to the University of Detroit-Mercy.
Courtney Williams (Southfield) – A pesky ‘4’ with a fast-improving offensive skill-set, Williams is going to the Windy City for her college hoops, committing to Loyola University
Jada Woody (Plymouth) – Tough-as-nails forward that will soon be rocketing to the next level right down I-75, committing to the University of Toledo
