Grand Rapids Christian’s Kobe Bufkin, Wayne’s Aubryanna Hall earn McDonald’s All-American honors

The STATE CHAMPS! three-state footprint — Michigan, Ohio and Indiana — captured two of the 48 slots on the rosters for the 2021 McDonald’s All-American Game, one for each gender, it was announced Tuesday.
Grand Rapids (Mich.) Christian’s Kobe Bufkin was the lone boys player from the 19 boys nominees out of the three-state footprint to make the roster, while Aubryanna Hall of Wayne High School in Ohio was the only girls All-American out of 39 Michigan, Ohio and Indiana girls nominees.
A 6-foot-4 shooting guard, Bufkin is one of three University of Michigan commits to earn All-American honors, joined by Moussa Diabate of Florida’s IMG Academy and Montverde Academy’s Caleb Houstan.
A 5-foot-11 guard, Hall is one of four South Carolina commits on the girls roster, joined by Saniya Rivers of Eugene Ashley HS (NC), Raven Johnson of Westlake (Ga.) HS and Sania Feagin of Forest Park (Ga.) HS.
The games will not actually be played this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the All-Americans will be honored in a virtual ceremony.
