Hartland’s Kam Ragon named inaugural winner of The Wall Award
For most, winning a State Championship is the ultimate culmination of a high school career. Hartland goalie Kameron Ragon gets to add one more achievement to his resume – winner of the inaugural Wall Award presented by Warrior Hockey.
After sitting on the bench for most of his junior season, Kam was the final piece Hartland needed to bring them back to USA Hockey Arena.
But for his coach Rick Gadwa, it wasn’t just his on-ice performance that set him apart. “He attacks the game with regimented preparation, a will to lead his team, and a compete level that’s hard to beat”.
Kam is known around the MHSAA as a big, athletic goaltender who wins games – all of them, in fact. In his senior season with the Hartland Eagles, he went 21-0 as the starting goalie. With a Goals Against Average of 1.37, his play this year has been lights out. He ended his senior season with a .938 save perecentage, including 5 shutouts.
Now, the senior will graduate as a State Champion and will have one piece of his resume that is unique just to him – winner of The Wall Award.
