ICE BREAKER CLASSIC: Clarkston pulls away in second half to beat AA Skyline

YPSILANTI — It was close early, but Clarkston finished strong, pulling away from Ann Arbor Skyline for a 50-33 win at the Seventh Annual Girls Basketball Ice Breaker Classic on Saturday.

Clarkston’s 7-0 run in the fourth helped extend a five-point lead at the end of the third into a 17-point win. The Wolves (2-1) outscored Skyline (0-3) by a 29-10 margin in the second half after going into halftime down 23-21.

Chala House had seven first-quarter points for Skyline, leading the Eagles with 12, while Janee Faulkner finished with nine. Clarkston had four players finish with seven or more points, led by 13 from Izzy Hadley and 10 from Taylor Heaton, who scored eight of Clarkston’s 12 points in the first quarter. 

The Eagles visit Detroit Cass Tech on Dec. 12, then will face Midland Dow in the Best of Michigan Holiday Classic at Belleville on Dec. 14. Clarkston hosts Pontiac Notre Dame Prep on Dec. 10.
