Indy-Area Basketball Recruiting Notebook – Richart Commits To Charlotte, Jones To WCU

Arguably, the top “project” or “high-upside” recruit in the Circle City will be playing his college hoops in the Queen City.
Zionsville senior center Nick Richart has committed to UNC-Charlotte., pulling the 6-foot-10 stretch 4 off the board and into the mix with the 49ers. Richart posted 11 points and 6 boards per night as a junior, painting a picture of all-business efficiency inside the paint.
Charlotte went 17-14 last winter, The 49ers play in Conference USA.
Central Goes West
Coming off a breakout junior campaign and a banger of a summer on the AAU trail, Lawrence Central senior guard Kamari Jones committed to Western Carolina this week.
The feisty 6-foot-4 combo guard averaged 16 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds per game in 2022. Western Carolina is a small Division I college program that competes out of the Southern Conference. Former Wake Forest star Justin Gray coaches the Catamounts.
