Jacked For Success At The Next Level — Penn State Nabs WB LB Jackson For Class Of ’24

West Bloomfield’s Kari Jackson jolts anyone in his vicinity on the football field. We’re talking enough high-voltage to light up all of Metro Detroit.
Expected to be a frontrunner in the Anvil Award race this fall, the Blue Chip outside linebacker, has committed to Penn State. Jackson (6-2, 210) recorded 103 tackles and 3 sacks as a junior in 2022. The stats could have been gaudier since he missed three games with injury issues. His speed, intelligence and natural instinct to get to the ball are elite. His tireless dedication to his craft, diversity of skill and mega motor make him special.
As a freshman, Jackson logged 45 tackles on West Bloomfield’s 2020 state-title squad before leaving for a year to give it a go on the prep-school circuit down in Florida during his sophomore campaign. Jackson spent time on the Anvil Award candidate list last season in his first year back in Michigan following his brief stay at IMG Academy. West Bloomfield should once again be one of the top teams on the gridiron in the MHSAA next fall.
Jackson chose PSU over two dozen other scholarship offers. Purdue, Stanford, Colorado, Central Florida and Missouri each offered in the last two months. Penn State, Michigan and Michigan State were the first schools to offer him as a ninth-grader. He also collected bids from Wisconsin, Maryland, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Duke and Cincinatti, among others.
