Josh Jackson announces he’s transferring to Justin-Siena in California

Rumors circulated that 2016 small forward Josh Jackson would be transferring out of Michigan, to a start-up prep school in California, Prolific Prep. Well that turned out not to be the case.
Jackson will still be leaving Detroit Consortium, and he’s still going to where there’s plenty of sun and palm trees, but not Prolific Prep. Justin-Siena High is his next destination for the 2014-2015 season, which is located in Napa, California.
"I will not be at Consortium," he told Blair Glover, in an interview with 1NationTV. "I will be out in California, in Sacramento at Justin-Siena."
When Jackson announced that he was leaving earlier this month, many people assumed he would go to one of the premier prep schools in the country, like an Oak Hill, or Findlay Prep. Even the rumored Prolific Prep was a shocker.
But Justin-Siena isn’t a prep school, and doesn’t have an outstanding boys basketball program judging by their record. The Braves went just 9-17 last season, but with the addition of the top junior in the nation, Jackson, should turn that around in no time.
Jackson’s mind was made up way before his state title run with Consortium was even over in March. He knew he was leaving, but still wanted to win a state title for the Cougars, and delivered.
"It was a decision made by me and my family," he said. "Pretty much during our basketball season at Consortium. So it’s been said."
Jackson is in training camp with the USA Under-17 team right now, before heading to Dubai for the FIBA World Championships August 8–16.
Last season as a sophomore, Jackson averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists for Consortium. He also holds offers from Michigan State, and a
Auburn.
