The Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association will hold it’s 32nd annual, East-West Baseball All-star Classic at Comerica Park on July 1. The contest will include 36 of the best high school baseball players from 36 different schools who will battle it out for state bragging rights.

Four players chosen in the MLB Draft will participate in the event, including Jackson Lamb of Temperance Bedford, Johnny Slater of Southfield Lathrup, Harrison Wenson of UofD Jesuit, and Nick Deeg of Lake Orion. All four have committed to college programs, with Lamb, Slater and Wenson teaming up at Michigan next year, and Deeg heading to Central Michigan. Other top players participating include Carmen Benedetti (Grosse Pointe South), Hector Gutierrez (Detroit Western International), Walter Borkovich (Traverse City West), and Brett Adcock of the Division 1 state champs, Bay City Western Warriors.

The West Baseball All-Stars defeated the East Baseball All-Stars 16-6 in last year’s game at Comerica Park, and have won the last two all-star games. An All-Star/Hall of fame banquet will be held at Zuccaros Banquet Center of Clinton, Township on Sunday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 each. Tickets for the game are $10.00 for adults, and $5.00 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased at Comerica Park the day of the game.
