MIDWEST RECRUITING: Bound for ‘Bama, Brownsburg’s Cameron Alford signs with Alabama A&M

Out with the old, in with the new.
In the same week Brownsburg boys basketball star Cameron Alford ended his dynamite prep career, he found a place to play at the next level.
The smart and slick 6-foot-2 senior point guard signed with Alabama A&M, a small Division I program out of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, last Saturday. Three days later, his Bulldogs club got upset by Plainfield, 46-43, in the state tournament opener. Brownsburg concluded the 2019 campaign with a 17-7 record.
Alford averaged 16 points and six assists per game over the last three seasons. Last year, he was an Indiana Junior All-Star and led the Bulldogs to a sectional crown. His handles, court vision, and command of an offense combine splendidly with a natural scoring instinct to set him apart at the floor general position.
He scored nearly 1,500 points as a prepster running and gunning for the Brownsburg Dawg Pound. Alford was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs and will leave the school as one of the program’s best-ever out of the backcourt.
