MIDWEST RECRUITING: Burney’s Indiana gridiron recruit watch list

Three sophomores to watch:
Luke Collinsworth (East Central, 6-foot-7, 305 pound Soph. OL) — The quintessential mauler and road grader up front, a monster talent in the trenches. Indiana and Purdue came in with offers this month.
Rodney McGraw (Elkhart Central, 6-foot-7, 230 pound Soph. DE) — Freakishly raw skill-set, simply a force of nature coming off the edge and a hurricane of chaos for opposing quarterbacks. Size, speed, length, closing power and natural instinct aka the TOTAL PACKAGE. IU just offered earlier this month, as did Purdue. He had 50 tackles (18 for lost yardage) and five sacks in 2018.
Preston Terrell (Columbus North, 6-foot-3, 185 pound Soph. WR) — Soft-handed pass catcher and a picture of consistency whether going deep on a fly route, burning defenders on a post or showing off his toughness across the middle. Terrell hauled in 46 grabs for 502 yards and five TDs last fall.
Three juniors to watch:
Dylan Downing (Carmel, 6-foot-0, 220 pound Jr. RB) — Brute force rushing the rock in between the tackles, thrives on contact, but can do damage in the open field with his undervalued wheels if he gets the ball in space. Lays the wood on defense as a strong safety, too.
Maxen Hook (New Palestine, 6-foot-2, 185 pound Jr. S) — Maybe the most underrated prospect in the secondary for the state’s whole Class of 2020. Mad smarts, hits like a sledgehammer and has the presence of an old-school Ed Reed captaining the backend of the NP defense. He totaled 126 tackles, five sacks, three picks and three forced fumbles in 2018.
Caleb Murphy (West Washington, 6-foot-6, 245 pound Jr. DE) — Word on the street is that IU is on the verge of offering this high-motor, high-intensity pass-rush stud responsible for 85 tackles, five sacks and a booming 25 hurries last season.
