MIDWEST RECRUITING: Hoosier pigskin prospects left for taking In ’19

By: Scott Burnstein, September 3, 2018, 7:15 pm

The top uncommitted football players left in the state’s senior class:

1 David Bell (Warren Central WR) — Maybe the best player in the whole state, has big play written all over him, definition of a deep threat.

*Penn State and Purdue appear to be the clubhouse leaders for his services

2 Cameron Williams (Merrillville Andrean LB) — Speed, strength, size, instinct……any questions?

* Indiana and Purdue heading his pack of suitors.

3 Donivan Wright (Lawrence Central WR) — Sensational in the slot, butter soft hands.

* Cincinnati is the frontrunner right now.

4 Dawand Jones (Indianapolis Ben Davis OL) — This 6-foot-8, 325-pound punisher in the trenches has NFL-level upside … Yeah, I said it!!!

5 Joey Schmidt (Carmel LB) — Probably the No. 1 football IQ of any linebacker prospect in Hoosierland at this moment.

6 Darius Alexander (Ft. Wayne Wayne DE) — Burney’s SUPERSONIC SLEEPER SPECIAL in the senior class, just oozing with talent and potential.

7 Brandon Berger (Roncalli LB) — STRAIGHT FIRE!!!! … ’nuff said!!!

8 Grant Gremel (Noblesville QB) — Rocket launcher of an arm, great at going through his progressions and finding his second and third options on any given play.

9 Trenton Kelley (Columbus North QB) — Brings the pain in the pocket, picks apart defenses with poise and precision.

10 Trevin Taylor (Ft. Wayne Homestead WR) — Prototypical possession receiver, quintessential reliability for all four quarters.
