MIDWEST RECRUITING: Hoosierland recruiting notebook — Who’s talking to whom

Here’s what’s going on this week with some of the ISHAA’s top prep football prospects:
Boiling Up The Charts
Brownsburg sophomore quarterback Ben Easters, Charlestown junior running back Marion Lukes, Avon sophomore offensive lineman Blake Fisher and Zionsville junior center Gus Hartwig are all visiting Purdue this week. Lukes is the No. 1 rusher in the state, running for 2,400 yards and 26 touchdowns already. Fisher is the top recruit in the state’s Class of 2021.
Hoosier Heaven
Warren Central senior wide receiver David Bell, the best split end in the state, visited Indiana last weekend. Bell is the most sought-after Class of 2019 Blue Chipper left on the state’s recruiting board. He’s narrowed his choices to IU, Purdue, Penn State and Ohio State.
IU offered Gibson Southern freshman quarterback Brady Allen this week. Allen is the top fab frosh field general in the state right now and has thrown for 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Big House Balling
West Lafayette sophomore linebacker Yanni Karlaftis and Culver Academy junior defensive end Deontae Craig were both on campus at the University of Michigan over the weekend taking in the Wolverines beat down of Wisconsin. Karlaftis’ big bro, George Karlaftis is a pass rush specialist and the premier prep prospect in the entire state of Indiana. The elder Karlaftis is heading to Purdue next year.
Looking nice in Nashville
Hamilton Southeastern junior quarterback Kody Sparks, the top drop back passer in the state’s Class of 2020, was in Music City visiting Vanderbilt this week.
