Next-Level Launch Pad – Lee To Iowa, Caldwell To L’ville, Belleville Pair Commits Late In Recruiting Game

After a couple of false starts and a state championship, Belleville’s Deshaun Lee and Jeremaih Caldwell finally found their spots at the next level.
Over the weekend and on the cusp of National Signing Day this Wednesday, Lee (5-11, 175 CB) committed to Iowa and Caldwell (6-3,185 S/WR) committed to Louisville. During the Tigers run to the Division 1 state title last fall, Lee de-committed from Akron and Caldwell de-committed from Kentucky. Caldwell was on campus for a visit to Louisville Saturday.
In Belleville’s high-flying 55-33 defeat of Rochester Adams in the state championship game at Ford Field back in November, both Caldwell and Lee caught touchdown passes. Caldwell hauled in three scoring grabs, all of the highlight-reel variety (56, 64, 72 yards respectively), for a total of 204 yards. Scouting services project Caldwell to land in the Louisville secondary.
“He has a long frame, high football IQ and an ideal build, very sleek and athletic….he’s everything that you want at the free safety position,” 24/7 Sports Midwest Recruiting Coordinator Allen Trieu said. “The knack he has for the big play in key moments is uncanny and something you can’t teach.”
Lee likes the double-positives his future university provides, great football and great academics.
“The Iowa football program’s graduation rate and their winning tradition is what sold me,” he said.
