Paul Verska resigns as head football coach at Warren De La Salle

Warren – Warren De La Salle football coach Paul Verska resigned on Friday following De La Salle’s Division 2 25-21 pre-district loss to Detroit East English Village Prep at Wayne State.
Verska told his team he would not be coaching the Pilots in the team huddle on the field.
Verska led the Pilots to three Division 2 finals. Last season De La Salle won the school’s first football title as it defeated Muskegon Mona Shores, 44-8, at Ford Field.
De La Salle lost to Muskegon in the 2006 and ’08 final.
The program had never been to a state final before Verska became the head coach.
Verska also took Ann Arbor Huron to the Class AA final in 1997. Huron lost to Detroit Catholic Central 23-7 in the final.
