Welcome to the 2021 Michigan High School Softball Player of the Year Contest sponsored by Total Softball and State Champs! The fan voting portion of the Contest has ended!!!

The criteria that will be used to select the 2021 Michigan High School Softball Player of the Year Contest champion will be: Performance Throughout Season 30%, Level Of Competition 20%, Online Vote 20%, Big Game Performance 15%, Team Success 10%, Highly Recruited Athlete 5%.

The 2021 Total Softball Player of the Year will be announced the week of June 21. The final award selection and presentation will take place with our good friends at Total Softball! Hit .584 with 12 home runs as a sophomore, earning all-state honorable mention for the Marlins. Also plays hockey for Mercy, and has been a team captain since her sophomore season. CURRENT STATS (thru 6/10): .467 AVG, .492 OBP, 1.103 SLG, 1.595 OPS, 6-2Bs, 10-3Bs, 14 HRs; 62 RBI, 45 runs scored, 6/6 stolen bases, 8 BB/6 K; .978 fielding pct.

Owosso

Class: 2022 | Position: P

Commitment: Kent State

An all-region and all-conference pitcher as a freshman for the Trojans, leading Owosso to a Flint Metro League co-championship. She’s taken it up a notch as a junior, leading the Trojans to a district and conference championship in the same season for the first time in program history. She’s thrown all but one game for the Trojans, posting 32 wins. Irelan is also an accomplished swimmer, the first female in school history to earn all-state honors in the sport. Broke her own school record for home runs with 19 as a sophomore, adding seven triples and 13 doubles among her 68 hits, batting .596 with 65 RBI and a state-record 88 runs scored. On the Central Region watch list for the Premier Girls Fastpitch High School All-American Game. Ranked in the top 50 in the 2021 class by Extra Inning Softball, and was an Extra Inning All-American in 2019. FINAL STATS: .600 AVG, .694 OBP, 1.492 SLG, 2.186 OPS, 72H, 8-2BBs, 6-3Bs, 29 HRs, 71 RBI, 88 runs scored, 35 BB/9 K, .934 fielding pct.

Ava Bradshaw

South Lyon

Commitment: Uncommitted

The state of Michigan has had some very good pitchers who’ve started out their careers in a dominant mode, and Bradshaw may be the next one in that list, as she’s been lights-out for the Lions as a freshman, posting three complete-game no-hitters. Her only four losses on the season are to Division 1 ranked teams in South Lyon East, Allen Park and Walled Lake Northern (twice).
