PSL QUARTERFINALS: Damon Terrelle leads CMA with 25, as Pharaohs roll past Pershing

DETROIT — Damon Terrelle had a game-high 25 points, leading CMA to a 74-61 win over Pershing in the quarterfinals of the Detroit Public School League tournament Saturday at Renaissance High School.
CMA (11-3) advances to Tuesday’s PSL semifinals at Cass Tech, where they’ll face the host Technicians (14-1) in the second semifinal of the night, starting at 7 p.m.
The Pharaohs opened the season with a 74-48 win over Pershing (9-6) on Dec. 11, and picked up right where they left off, opening up a 17-9 lead after a quarter, and led 39-32 at the half and 55-42 going to the fourth.
Along with Terrelle’s scoring outburst, Dorian Johns had 16 points for CMA, and Cordairo Miles had 11.
Four players scored in double figures for Pershing: Mathieu Bartley had 17, Marcus Ingram 13 and Brian Woodland and Erick McCurdy had 10 each.
