Michigan 8-player top 10 football rankings after Week 5 of the 2019 regular season

A pair of first-year 8-player squads were involved in the biggest upheaval in this week’s rankings, as a pair of top-five teams were handed their first losses of the season. The No. 9-ranked Colon Magi, in their second year in the 8-player ranks, handed then-No. 5 Climax-Scotts its first-ever 8-player loss in resounding fashion, beating the first-year 8-player team 42-0. Then-No. 4 Hillman had cruised through the first four weeks of the season before losing 32-14 to the first-year 8-player team from Mio.
