Michigan football rankings after Week 5 of the 2019 regular season: Byron Center joins top 25, while WL Western, Saline, Lapeer return
As it turned out, the results of Week 5 turned out far less messy than the on-field contests — thanks to weather delays galore, and numerous postponements to Saturday afternoon — but there were still a few top 25 teams to fall, including Birmingham Brother Rice, Zeeland West, DeWitt and Grand Blanc. That opened up spots for a few teams to climb into (or back into) the rankings, with Byron Center jumping up from the ranks of the honorable mentions, and Lapeer, Walled Lake Western and Saline making their way back into the top 25 after earlier losses.
