STATE CHAMPS! Preseason Football Top 20 Rankings
Detroit King (Division 3) — Too hot to handle, too cold to hold. When you have the No. 1 QB in the nation leading your team, you know you’re in good shape for the fall.
Warren De La Salle (Division 2) — A Drogosh dynasty in the making? 3 straight trips to Ford Field on the line in ’22.
Belleville (Division 1) — Mission: Repeat. Mad, bad and dangerous to know.
West Bloomfield (Division 1) — They call WR Semaj Morgan “Jukebox” for a reason, as in he has all the right moves stretching the field and is sweet music in motion
Rochester Adams (Division 1) — The fabulous Picot brothers should call themselves the “Febreeze brothers” because their just so so fresh, crisp and clean in everything they do.
Caledonia (Division 2) — Mason McKenzie is probably the most underrated quarterback in the MHSAA, expect a giant senior campaign from this Westside workhorse under center.
Chippewa Valley (Division 1) — The Schuster Era: Chapter 3 locked and loaded.
Clarkston (Division 1) — Senior running back Ethan Clark is a real sleeper in the Mr. Football race
River Rouge (Division 3) — Panther pigskin prowess is reaching an apex, fair warning.
Detroit Cass Tech (Division 1) — Classic CT, fast, fun, fearless
Saline (Division 1) — Strap in tight for two more years of ’24 Notre Dame QB-commit C.J. Carr magic spinning beauties out of the pocket
Dexter (Division 2) — Cole Cabana is pure electricity on every touch.
Birmingham Brother Rice (Division 3) — Might have the best offensive line in Metro Detroit.
Detroit Catholic Central (Division 1) — If the QB position solidifies, this Shamrocks club could be something very special.
Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (Division 3) — Year No. 1 for alum Jermaine Gonzales heading the program and his swagger is contagious.
Walled Lake Western (Division 2) — If defense plays big, Western has a shot at Ford Field.
Grand Blanc (Division 1) — Building towards elite status.
Rockford (Division 1) — Solid as a rock. Again.
Muskegon (Division 3) — Will have opponents seeing red. Again.
DeWitt (Division 3) — The class of Clinton County, this is another grip-it-&-rip-it type of club, so watch out.
