Top 25 HS Football Teams: King moves to No. 3 after victory over Cass Tech, Saline moves up to No. 7

1. Muskegon (8-0), A: La’darius Jefferson scored three TDs in the fourth quarter as the Big Reds came back from a 17-14 deficit to defeat Muskegon Mona Shores, 35-24, last week. Muskegon plays at Jenison on Friday.

2. Utica Eisenhower (8-0), A: Eisenhower defeated Warren Mott, 42-7, last week and will play at Utica Ford on Friday.

3. Detroit King (7-1), A: Jae’veyon Morton’s 93-yard kickoff return for a TD led the Crusaders past Detroit Cass Tech, 17-7, in a PSL semifinal last week. King plays Detroit East English Village Prep for the league title Friday at Ford Field.

4. East Grand Rapids (8-0), A: The Pioneers defeated Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern, 35-0, last week and host Grand Rapids South Christian on Friday.

5. Clinton Township Chippewa Valley (7-1), A: The Big Reds defeated Sterling Heights Stevenson, 42-0, last week and will host New Baltimore Anchor Bay on Friday.

6. Muskegon Mona Shores (7-1), A: The Sailors lost 35-24 to Muskegon last week and will play at Fruitport on Friday.

7. Saline (7-1), A: The Hornets defeated Ypsilanti, 24-13, last week to finish the regular season on a seven-game winning streak.

8. Belleville (8-0), A: Dearborn Heights Annapolis forfeited its game with Belleville last week and Belleville will close out the regular season at Temperance Bedford on Friday.

9. Traverse City West (8-0), A: West defeated Gaylord, 42-0, last week and will host Coldwater on Thursday.

10. Detroit Cass Tech (5-2), A: The Technicians lost to King, 17-7, last week and will play a PSL crossover this week to close out the regular season. 

11. Canton (7-1), A: Four backs rushed for 50 yards or more and Canton led 21-0 before going on to defeat Brighton, 35-10, last week. The Chiefs will host Livonia Churchill this Friday.

12. West Bloomfield (6-2), A: Bryce Veasley accounted for six TDs and the Lakers defeated Southfield A&T, 62-37, last week. West Bloomfield will play Birmingham Groves on Friday.

13. Fenton (8-0), A: Quarterback Josh Czarnota rushed for two TDs as Fenton defeated Swartz Creek, 28-8, last week. Fenton plays at Waterford Mott on Friday.

14. Warren DeLaSalle (6-2), A: The Pilots shut out Detroit Catholic Central in the final three quarters last week and defeated the Shamrocks, 20-6. The two teams will play for the Catholic League title on Saturday at Ford Field.

15. Rochester Adams (7-1), A: The Highlanders clinched a share of the OAA Red Division title by defeating Troy Athens, 55-13, last week and will play Oak Park on Friday.

16. Detroit East English Village Prep (8-0), A: The Bulldogs defeated Detroit Renaissance, 37-8, in a PSL semifinal last week and will play King for the league title on Friday at Ford Field.

17. Wyandotte Roosevelt (8-0): A: The Bears trailed Gibraltar Carlson, 20-3, then scored 21 consecutive points for a 24-20 victory last week. Wyandotte hosts Melvindale on Friday.

18. Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central (8-0), A: The Rangers defeated Cedar Springs, 35-20, to clinch the OK Conference White Division title outright and will play at Wayland Union on Friday.

19. Livonia Churchill (7-1), A: The Chargers defeated Wayne Memorial, 49-6, last week and will play at Canton on Friday.

20. DeWitt (7-1), A: The Panthers defeated Linden, 33-3, last week and host Portage Northern on Friday.

21. Grand Ledge (7-1), A: The Comets defeated Lansing Everett, 35-0, last week and play at Holt on Friday.

22. Midland (7-1), A: The Chemics defeated Lapeer, 35-14, last week and will play Midland Dow this Friday.

23. Holland West Ottawa (7-1), A: The Panthers defeated Jenson, 48-14, last week and can clinch the O-K Conference Red Division title outright with a victory over Grandville on Friday.

24. Waterford Mott (7-1), A: The Corsairs defeated Walled Lake Northern, 56-30, last week and will host Fenton on Friday.

25. Midland Dow (7-1), A: The Chargers whipped Flint Carman-Ainsworth, 45-14, last week and enter the top 25 for the first time. Dow has scored 230 points in its last five games. The Chargers play Midland on Friday.
