Top 25 HS Football Teams: Top 15 remains unchanged; Portage Central, F.H. Harrison new entries to top 25

- Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (4-0): St. Mary’s had a breather (49-14 over U-D Jesuit) and now the Eaglets face the defending Division 2 champs Warren De La Salle (3-1) on the red carpet.
- Detroit Cass Tech (4-0), A: The Technicians have outscored their opponents 178-34. On Saturday Cass Tech plays at Detroit King in what is the city’s most heated rivalry.
- Detroit King (4-0), A: The Crusaders defeated Detroit Denby, 41-0, and now face its third tough opponent of the season, Cass Tech, on Saturday.
- Saline (4-0), A: The Hornets just keep rolling along. Temperance Bedford (43-0) proved to be no match. Next is Ann Arbor Huron (0-4).
- Canton (4-0), A: As expected the Chiefs blew past Wayne Memorial (0-4), 57-0. It should be more of the same this week when they host Westland John Glenn (0-4)
- East Kentwood (4-0), A: Holland West Ottawa (35-7) proved to be no match for the Falcons. And despite its record, Jenison (2-2) shouldn’t pose much of a hurdle this week either.
- Walled Lake Western (4-0), A: Western defeated White Lake Lakeland, 42-14, and now face an inconsistent Waterford Mott team (2-2). Mott is averaging 37.5 points but has difficulty stopping teams from scoring.
- Detroit Catholic Central (3-1), A: No more cupcakes left on the table for the Shamrocks. Brother Rice comes calling in the annual Boys Bowl on Sunday.
- West Bloomfield (4-0), A: West Bloomfield led Troy Athens 14-9 at halftime before pulling away for a 28-17 victory. Lake Orion (2-2) is next and the Dragons have given up just three points in their last two games.
- Muskegon (3-1), A: Muskegon’s offense got going last week (56-28 over East Grand Rapids). The Big Reds host Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills (2-2) on Friday.
- Lowell (3-1), A: The Red Arrows had a surprisingly easy time last week (56-0 over Muskegon Reeths-Puffer) and now go to Grand Haven (2-2). Lowell is averaging 49 points a game.
- Muskegon Mona Shores (4-0), A: The Sailors continued their stout defensive work last week (30-7 over Caledonia). This week they host Zeeland East (3-1), which lost to Grand Rapids Christian, 24-20, last week.
- Warren Mott (4-0), A: Mott got the breather (35-0 over St. Clair Shores Lakeview) it was looking for last week. On Friday it travels to Clinton Township Chippewa Valley in what could be a high-scoring affair
- Macomb Dakota (3-1), A: Dakota defeated Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse (1-3), 35-0, last week and now moves into the meat of its schedule beginning with Utica Eisenhower (3-1) on Friday.
- Clinton Township Chippewa Valley (3-1), A: The Big Reds led Warren Cousino 21-0 before cruising to a 49-27 victory. The surprise team (Warren Mott) in Macomb County is next.
- Midland (4-0), A: After a rough-and-tumble game last week (21-14 over Mount Pleasant) the Chemics should have a much easier time with Bay City Western (1-3).
- Warren De La Salle (3-1): A: The Pilots ran past Birmingham Brother Rice (30-6) on Saturday and now go to St. Mary’s on Friday for what could be one of the best games of the season.
- Romeo (4-0), A: The Bulldogs trounced Utica Ford (49-7) last week and has Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse (1-3) next before facing Macomb Dakota.
- Lapeer (4-0), A: The Lightning have given up just 15 points after pasting Saginaw Heritage 49-0. Mount Pleasant (3-1) is next and Lapeer will play the Oilers at home on Friday.
- Howell (4-0), A: Howell barely slipped Pinckney (0-4), 28-23, last week and now faces Grand Blanc (3-1) In a key KLAA West Division game.
- Zeeland West (4-0), B: Comstock Park (3-1) gave West quite a game before losing 38-28 on Friday. West opens the OK Green Division season against Hamilton (1-3) on Friday.
- Brighton (4-0), A: The Bulldogs looked good last week in downing Grand Blanc (3-1), 35-12. Now they have consecutive road games beginning with Milford (0-4) this week.
- Portage Central (4-0), A: The Mustangs defeated an improved Benton Harbor team, 28-0, last Friday and host Richland Gull Lake (2-2) this week. Central will likely be 8-0 when it faces St. Joseph (3-1) in the regular season finale.
- Farmington Hills Harrison (3-1), A: The Hawks beat Birmingham Seaholm for their third straight win. It’s OAA White Division showdown time this Friday at home against Southfield (3-1).
- Mount Pleasant (3-1), A: The Oilers lost a tough one last week (21-14 to Midland). They’ll have to pick themselves up quickly with Lapeer (4-0) on tap this week.
