Softball Semifinal Predictions: Caledonia to play Regina, the team that it lost to in the 2015 D1 final

Caledonia – Three years ago Sammie Gehrls was the talk not only of the softball being played in the Grand Rapids area but throughout the state.
Gehrls was a freshman pitcher who led Caledonia to the Division 1 final and now Gehrls and Caledonia are back in the state semifinals.
Never mind that Caledonia lost to Warren Regina in the 2015 final, 5-0. It was a remarkable run for the Scots.
What surprised some is that Caledonia did not reach a state semifinal in the two seasons that followed. The Scots lost to Byron Center in the 2016 districts and then were eliminated by Grandville in a regional final last season. Grandville would go on to the state final before losing to Macomb Dakota.
What this proves is that it is difficult to reach the state semifinals regardless of the talent level of any team in any season.
All games will be played at Secchia Stadium in East Lansing.
Here are our predictions for all eight semifinals.
