SOFTBALL: Stevensville Lakeshore edges out Livonia Ladywood for Division 2 title

EAST LANSING – Starting off the day a little slow, Stevensville Lakeshore came storming back late to down Livonia Ladywood, 4-3 in the Division 2 state softball finals.
 
Rachel Reidel jumpstarted the Lakeshore rally in the fourth inning with a moon-shot of a homer and Rachel Clem’s bunt-single tied it up 2-2, before plating its last two runs of the game on a pair of fielder’s choices.
Haley Thibeault pitched a 3-hitter and swiped three bases for Lakeshore in the victory. She sent the Ladywood lineup down in order in the seventh to sew up the crow, its’ seventh state title in program history.
 
Lakeshore finished the season with a 35-9 record. Ladywood’s outing featured 9 strikeouts being recorded by starting hurler Rozlyn Price, 7 coming in the opening three frames of action.
