STATE CHAMPS! FRIDAY FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Northville tops Salem in OT

Plymouth – After Salem grabbed a 20-17 lead in overtime, Northville’s P.J. Schnepp scored on a two yard touchdown run to lift Northville to a 23-20 win over Salem on Friday night.

Schnepp finished the night with 84 yards rushing on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns to help lead the way for Northville. Justin Zimbo totaled over 100 yards of offense for the Mustangs, while the defense was paced by Lee Moore, who finished with 13 tackles on the night.

Alex Nicholson threw for 163 yards and threw a touchdown pass to lead the way for Salem.

 

East Grand Rapids 34, Grandville 28: Matt Solberg ran for 178 yards on 27 carries and notched a touchdown to help lead East Grand Rapids to a much needed win on Friday night.

Grand Rapids Christian 35, Hudsonville 34: Malik McLaughlin scored on an eight yard touchdown run with under three minutes left to play to lead Grand Rapids Christian to a one point win on Friday night. McLaughlin finished with 240 yards of total offense, while Patrick Hall threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns to lead GR Christian. Mason Opple paced the Hudsonville offense with 236 yards through the air and 40 on the ground.

Walled Lake Central 15, Lakeland 10: Nick Krumm rushed for 113 yards on 16 carries to lead the way for the Central offense. Luke Ellis totaled 120 yards of total offense for Lakeland.

Caledonia 42, Rockford 0: Eddie Kelly rushed for 145 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns, while Tanner Christian rushed for 119 more yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns of his own to lead the way for Caledonia. Landen Haney threw for 88 yards to lead Rockford.

Waterford Mott 20, Walled Lake Western 17: Dakota Kupp threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, while Juan Webb caught two touchdown passes to lead Mott. Quintin Dowdy rushed for 105 yards to lead Western on Friday night.

Lowell 32, Grand Haven 14: Ryan Stevens threw for 232 yards and two touchdown and Gabe Stead tallied 218 yards and three touchdowns receiving. Max Dean rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries for the Red Arrows.

Cass Tech 44, Denby 6: Mike Weber rushed for 128 yards on just 12 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the way for Cass Tech.
