STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Anticipating the best >> New Oakland County QB crop angling for stardom

By: SCOTT M. BURNSTEIN, July 17, 2021, 3:00 pm

The 10 most anticipated QB debuts in Oakland County for the ’21 MHSAA football campaign

1 Drew Viotto (Walled Lake Western 6-4, 205 Jr.) — The next really, really big thing to hit the state’s field general ranks, straight from Canada, this volcano is about to erupt and take the entire MHSAA by storm.

2 Reqez Nance (West Bloomfield 5-10, 175 Soph.) — Will be the most exciting signal-caller the Lakers have had under center since the Trishton Jackson era, pure electricity.

3 Dominic Pesci (Farmington 6-6, 200 Jr.) — Be afraid, be very afraid. This trigger-happy tiger is about to be let off the leash and be on the prowl for secondaries to dissect.

4 Kalieb Osborn (Waterford Mott 6-4, 190 Soph.) — Has the chance to be a very special type of playmaker in and out of the pocket if he keeps his focus.

5 Cayden Hardy (Birmingham Groves 6-0, 175 Soph.) — The arm, the gridiron IQ, the feel for the game, the natural leadership, it’s all there.

6 Ryan Shelby (North Farmington 5-9, 175 Soph.) — Once Mill the Thrill and the Legend himself, Coach Herrington, get their hands on this kid for an extended period of time, we should have another dazzling downfield dandy on our hands

7 Kieran Crossley (Bloomfield Hills 6-2, 190 Soph.) — Another gritty gamer of a Black Hawks gunslinger in the making, all the tools for Paddock or Slaz 2:0.

8 Jake Tuttle (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 6-1, 175 Soph.) — This two-sport sizzler will score a ton of touchdowns and make a lot of baskets before its all said and done on his prep career for the Fighting Irish.

9 Brayden Ledin (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6-0, 180 Jr.)  — Ready for the call of duty, showed promise in the pocket on JV last year.

10 Ethan Bieniasz (Stoney Creek 6-0, 180 Soph.) — Locked and loaded and ready to take the mantle for Team Merlo.
