STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Brotherly Love Goes Next Level >> Warren Central’s Tae Davis chooses Louisville
Tae Davis wants his college basketball career to be a family affair. Warren Central’s 6-foot-7 small forward committed to Louisville earlier this month and is set to join his brother Dre with the Cardinals when he lands on campus in Kentucky in 2022.
Dre Davis is a freshman at Louisville this season after being a Mr. Basketball finalist last winter at Lawrence Central. The Davis brothers will be the first set of siblings to play for the Cardinals since the early 1980s when the Jones boys (Charles and Kent) suited up for the university.
Tae Davis averaged 11 points and five rebounds per game last year. He’s considered a four-star recruit and was deciding between Louisville, IU, Purdue, Butler and Xavier. Just like his brother, Tae is an explosive slasher and finisher at the rim and runs the floor like a deer. Scouts love his length and instinct in the open court on both sides of the ball.
Davis transferred to Warren Central in the summer when his dad, D’Andre, accepted the head coaching job. The past two years, Davis played alongside his big bro at Lawrence Central and won close to 50 games combined over the 2019 and 2020 campaigns. Dre Davis is off to a savage start in a Cardinals uniform, averaging 12.5 points and four boards per night through four games this season as a freshman.
