STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Flash of genius in the secondary — LC’s Harmon going to the MAC, gives nod to Kent St.
The prestigious academic institutions were after him for his prowess on the gridiron and in the classroom. The top dogs in the MAC East secured his services instead.
Lawrence Central cornerback Jahmad Harmon, one of the best cover corners in the state’s class of 2022, committed to Kent State this week. Harmon (6-foot-0, 185 pounds) is high character and sharp as a knife on and off the football field: he was being recruited heavily by the Ivy League and the military service academies.
This fall, Harmon recorded four picks, 35 tackles and deflected eight passes out of the secondary. Kent State is 4-4 and sitting in first place in the MAC East Division.
