STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Getting To Know The QB — Homestead’s Slaven setting Ft. Wayne field general scene ablaze

Peyton Slaven is in “all-systems go” mode and racking up the stats in his first year starting under center at quarterback for the Homestead Spartans.
The quick-triggered 6-foot-0 junior gunslinger is on fire right out of the gate. His arm is a flamethrower and his efficiency has been off the charts.
The Spartans started 2-0 before a three-point, 45-42 loss to Bishop Luers in Week 3, and Slaven has been a picture of consistency passing the pigskin, completing 36 of his 55 attempts for 491 yards and six touchdowns, against just two interceptions. He also ran for 48 yards and a score against Bishop Luers.
Homestead went 10-2 and won a 6A sectional title last year.
