STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: No passing fancy, these guys are for real — IHSAA offseason QB watch list

By: SCOTT M. BURNSTEIN, December 5, 2021, 2:46 pm

Ten IHSAA quarterbacks to look out for this offseason:

(alphabetical order)

Rowdy Adams (Sullivan Jr.)  — Plays with grit, intelligence and efficiency.

Scott Ballentine (Andrean Soph.)  — The newest NW Indiana gunslinger you need to know about, threads needles like a world-class tailor.

Nolan Buckman (Indianapolis Brebeuf Jesuit Jr.)  — The newest Circle City gunslinger you need to know about, throws thunder bolts but also displays nice touch.

Noah Ehrlich (Hobart Fr.)  — The future at the signal-calling position in NW Indiana is NOW, superb mechanics, sick potential.

Landon Fouts (Lebanon Jr.)  — Fearless field general who picks his spots and knows how to find and exploit tight windows in coverage. Expect a giant senior season from him in ’22.

Matt Koontz (Hanover Central Soph.)  — Just scratching the surface on what could be a very special prep career passing the pigskin.

Max Mullis (West Lafayette Jr.)  — A natural leader with presence and precision in the pocket.

Ty Owens (Tri-West Hendricks Jr.)  — Coldblooded assassin dissecting defenses and anchoring a huddle.

Cameron Tilly (Castle Jr.)  — Rugged, cannon-armed and quick on the trigger.

Mason Wunderlich (Evansville Mater Dei Jr.)  — Locked and loaded for a productive offseason on the recruiting trail, cash money in the clutch.
