STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Power in the pocket — Offseason Indianapolis QB power index

By: SCOTT M. BURNSTEIN, January 11, 2022, 5:18 pm

Danny O’ Neil (Cathedral 2024) — Gunslinger with an incredibly high gridiron IQ.

Nicholas Patterson (Mooresville 2023) — Pinpoint precision running an offense,  one of the most underrated field general prospects all across the Midwest.

Nolan Buckman (Brebeuf Jesuit 2023) — Most improved player in the state at his position.

Carsen Melvin (Plainfield 2025) — A Ther-A-Flu Special, just plain sickness chucking the pigskin

D.J. Gordon (Park Tudor 2024) — The total package, enough said.

Montez Jones (Lawrence North 2024) — Slippery, stealthy rhythm passer who is getting better every snap.

Mason Reynolds (Avon 2024) — The consummate competitor under center, the prototype athlete. … will bring his Orioles back to prominence next fall.

Jayden Whitaker (Brownsburg 2024) — Showed flashes of brilliance in his sophomore season, trending towards being a genuine Grade-A flamethrower.

Tony Flatt (Covenant Christian 2023) — Small school spunk but with a butter-soft touch and ultra smooth release that is equal to any big school signal caller in the area.

(tie) Luke Murphy (Zionsville 2024) — Just scratching the surface on his potential.

(tie) Bryson Luter (Lawrence Central 2024) — Looking like a true sleeper in his class, demonstrating much aptitude at the position.
