STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: Renaissance’s Kailee Davis commits to Northern Kentucky

The reigning Miss PSL has found a new, post-high school home.
Detroit Renaissance floor general Kailee Davis committed to the Horizon League’s Northern Kentucky Sunday afternoon, making it yet another member of the state’s decorated and deep 2021 class to land at the Division I level.
Davis made the announcement on Twitter.
“This has been a tough journey, not fully being able to enjoy the recruiting process due to this unexpected pandemic,” Davis wrote as part of her commitment post, thanking coaches and family. “Finally, I have found a place where I feel I belong. Thank you to Coach (Camryn) Whitaker and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity!”
The 5-foot-4 Davis was a member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team, first-team all-state from The Associated Press, one of seven juniors among the 16 players honored as “Best of the Best” on the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan’s BCAM’s Best list, as well as one of the five finalists for the girls basketball slot on the STATE CHAMPS! All-Junior Team.
Davis scored 34 points in the PSL championship game, leading Renaissance to its first city title since 2011, becoming one of the few underclassmen to earn Miss PSL honors. She helped the Phoenix to a 22-2 record and a spot in the regional finals opposite Birmingham Marian when the postseason was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
