Catholic League Central Boys Hoops Player Power Rankings — 2021 Season

1 Julian Roper (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6-3 Sr. G) — As explosive as they come, Mr. Basketball in the making?

*—Signed with Northwestern

2 Curtis Williams (Birmingham Brother Rice 6-7 Soph. F) — The definition of silky smooth on the wing.

3 Cooper Craggs (Novi Detroit Catholic Central 6-7 Jr. F) — The definition of toughness and finishing ability inside and out.

4 John Blackwell (Birmingham Brother Rice 6-1 Soph. G) — About to take the Catholic League by storm, lead guard who makes it look easy.

*—Transfer from D4 Novi Christian

5 Kareem Rozier (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 5-10 Jr. G) — Maybe the best pure point guard in the whole state, quarterbacks a team like few others to have passed through the CHSL.

6 Sonny Wilson (Detroit U-D Jesuit 6-0 Soph. G) — Think Cassius Winston Part 2.

7 Jason “Deuce” Drake (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6-1 Jr. G) — Most underrated player in the league by far.

8 Peter Nwoke (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6-8 Sr. C) — Raw power as a rim runner, blunt force trauma on the blocks, long, athletic, eager, fantastic value as a recruit.

9 Chris Mutebi & Charles Turner (Detroit U-D Jesuit Jr. 6-5 F) — Frontcourt grinders with finesse.

10 (tie) Xavier Thomas (Birmingham Brother Rice 6-5 Soph. F) — Plays much bigger than his size, sparkplug in the post.

10 (tie) Linden Holder (Warren De La Salle 6-0 Sr. G) — Cool-handed, coldblooded floor general ready for a monster senior season.

Name to watch for a breakout: Tristan Nichols (Warren De La Salle 6-4 Soph. G/F)
