STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: South Bend Basketball Bulletin >> Wesley Will Hoop For ND; Columbus, Terry Still Available

South Bend is bucket heaven for Blake Wesley. He’s been tickling twine in his hometown since he was a little boy. Now, he’ll be playing his college hoops there.

Last weekend, the South Bend Riley shooting guard committed to Notre Dame, giving the Fighting Irish one of the Hoosier State’s most dynamic natural scorers for their Class of 2021 recruiting crop.

Wesley ripped the nets for 26 points per game last winter. He’s a consensus 4-star recruit. Last month, he trimmed his college choices to ND, Purdue, Kansas State, Maryland, Xavier and Creighton.

Wesley is the second hometown hero ND head coach Mike Brey snagged for his ’21 recruiting class. South Bend St. Joseph’s 6-foot-7 small forward J.R. Konieczny inked with the Fighting Irish earlier in the month.

Other South Bend sizzlers to keep an eye out for prospect wise this hoops season:

Quentez Columbus (South Bend Adams 5-11 Sr. G)— Best point guard in the area, lightning in the bottle type out of the backcourt. Clever, speedy, clutch.

Will Terry (South Bend St. Joseph’s 6-5 Sr. G/F)— Tremendous upside on the wing, fluid athlete, plays smart and tough
