The MHSAA Football Recruiting Hot List — February 2021

(alphabetical order)

C.J. Carr (Saline 6-3, 175 Fr. QB) — This prodigy in the pocket is former University of Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr’s grandson and just collected offers from Michigan and Michigan State

Brandon Davis-Swain (West Bloomfield 6-4, 235 Fr. DE) — Speed, footwork and technique rushing the quarterback, BDS bagged a Michigan State earlier in February.

Cameron Dyson (Belleville 6-3, 210 Jr. LB) — The most underrated linebacker prospect in the Class of ’22 snagged his first three offers from Marshall, Akron and Ball State.

Andy Hartman (Grand Blanc 6-6, 265 Jr. OL) — Bobcat Baller in the trenches about to blow up on the recruiting circuit, got his first two offers over the weekend from Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan.

Kari Jackson (West Bloomfield 6-2, 215 Fr. LB) — Relentless sideline-to-sideline, high gridiron IQ, lots of closing power on his tackles, Michigan and Michigan State both offered earlier this month. 

Ashton Lepo (Grand Haven 6-7, 275 Jr. OL) — Road grader with a nasty streak, who got his first two Big Ten bids this month from Michigan State and Indiana.

James Livingston (Dexter 6-7, 285 Jr. OL) — Scouts see a colossal upside when evaluating this Dexter dandy and he recently secured his first high-major offers from Indiana and Arizona State.

Nick Marsh (River Rouge 6-2, 180 Fr. WR) — They call him “Megatron” for a reason, the best wide receiver in the Class of ’24 has grabbed offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Arizona State since last month’s state finals.

Jacob Oden (Harper Woods 6-0, 175 Fr. CB) — The top cover corner in the Class of ’24, Oden’s recent offers span the likes of West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Pitt, Syracuse and Cincinnati.

Brennan Paracheck (Dexter 6-6, 250 Soph. TE) — You will be hearing more and more about this high-value prospect in the next few months, big hands, big motor, big dreams Kentucky was the first school to offer, followed by Akron, then Michigan State. 

Brady Ploucha (Dearborn Divine Child 6-6, 280 Jr. OL) — Committed to Central Michigan, Ploucha is a workhorse at the point of attack, the epitome of a gridiron grinder.

Jalen Thompson (Detroit Cass Tech 6-5, 250 Soph. DE) — The buzziest prospect in the PSL right now, Thompson is a pass rushing menace and recently got offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan St., Notre Dame, Bowling Green, Toledo, Central Michigan, Liberty, Akron and Notre Dame. 

Alex Van Sumeren (Essexville Garber 6-3, 300 Jr. DE) — Decommitted from Michigan last week, Van Sumeren is a total beast on the line and a master at collapsing pass coverage, offers from Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Boston College, Oregon, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Clemson have come in the past few days.
