By: SCOTT M. BURNSTEIN, May 29, 2021, 5:12 pm

A half-dozen big guys on the boys basketball floor ready for breakout summers

(alphabetical order)

Kareem Aburashed (Birmingham Detroit Country Day 6-9) — Hidden gem on the blocks from the private school ranks.

Carson Brodsky (Bloomfield Hills 6-8 Jr.) — Could be the MIP of the OAA White next season for the defending champion Black Hawks.

Calvin Hyde (Grand Rapids Northview 6-8 Jr.) — Glue guy, grinder, knows how to use his body to muscle more athletic bigs and outwork them on the glass.

Sam Leppien (Alma 6-9 Jr.) — The best big fella in the state that not enough people know about yet.

Lane Risdon (Zeeland East 6-9 Fr.) — The next star in the post on the westside of the state, rising fast and furious like a hooping version of Vin Diesel.

Mike Sulaka (Warren De La Salle 6-7 Soph.) — Expect him to be one of the toughest defensive assignments in Metro Detroit down low the next two years, think long, active, efficient.
