STATE CHAMPS! SCOUT TEAM: The Reggie Bass Bulletin — Hoosierland gets one of its own back, Illinois loses a hoops recruit

By: SCOTT M. BURNSTEIN, August 25, 2021, 9:28 am

Reggie Bass is back in the IHSAA and reopening his recruitment.

The four-star, 6-foot-5 southpaw shooting guard de-committed from Illinois last week, just recently removed from enrolling at Indianapolis Arsenal Tech for his senior year. He had chosen the Illini over Florida, Texas Tech, Kansas State and Oregon State.

Bass played at Muncie Central as a freshman averaging 12.9 points per game. For his sophomore season, he went the prep school route and transferred to Hamilton Heights Christian in Tennessee and then Elevation Prep for part of his junior campaign. He had initially committed to Providence.

Arsenal Tech should be a real force to be reckoned with next winter, unleashing a formidable lineup featuring Bass and fellow college recruits Dayveon Turner (point guard) and Matthew Spears (forward). Turner came over to Arsenal Tech last year from Anderson.

Bass and Turner play on Team Teague during the AAU season. Spears plays on the George Hill All-Stars.
