The Big Arrival — Lansing Area Diaper Dandy Smith Darts To CHSL, Transfers To Brother Rice

The powerhouse CHSL Central boys basketball league just got more powerful in the high-profile personnel department.
Trevor Smith, one of the top freshmen basketball prospects in the MHSAA, is transferring from Okemos to Catholic League champion Birmingham Brother Rice.
The 6-foot-9 Smith started in the frontcourt for an 18-5 Okemos squad last season out of the Lansing area, averaging 6 points and 6 rebounds per night.
Brother Rice (22-2) entered the 2023 state tournament as the No. 1 ranked club in the state, but fell in districts to a surging Orchard Lake St. Mary’s team. Expect Smith to join forces with 2024 Mr. Basketball candidate Warren Marshall to form a nasty inside-outside combo next winter.
